Aiming our Arrows at our True North Path

The Full Moon on Sunday, May 31st, at 4:44 AM, invites us to take a broader view of our lives and to see what's working – and what’s not. Several planets and aspects, namely Uranus and the Nodes of Fate, are asking us to break free from the illusions keeping us in patterns that no longer serve.

This is a dynamic time, and many patterns and wounds from the past may be loud in our awareness. Though the energy feels crunchy, disorienting, and unsettling at times, we are called to use those experiences as pointers to what we need to address, evolve, or let go of.

This Sagittarius Full Moon will help us to zoom out and see how all the seemingly separate experiences of our lives fit into a larger picture. This is a time for connecting the dots between our emotional reactions and the underlying wound from which they are arising.

In this report, I’ll share the main themes of this Full Moon and what they are asking of us. Each section comes with reflective questions for you to journal or meditate on. As you’re reading, listen to your body and intuition. Whatever stands out to you or resonates the most is what you are meant to focus on during this Sagittarius Full Moon.

Full Moon in Sagittarius Overview

On this Full Moon, the Sun is at 9 degrees Gemini and the Moon is at 9 degrees of Sagittarius, illuminating both of these signs in our consciousness. The energies unfolding now are the culmination of what was initiated during the last New Moon in Taurus. This is a time to reflect on what was occurring for you — and what intentions you planted — around May 16th.

Some of the themes for that New Moon are still prominent now, especially with the transpersonal planets: Uranus, Pluto, and Neptune. But before we jump into how they're affecting this moment, let’s lay the energetic foundation of what a Sagittarius Full Moon illuminates.

Sagittarius is the sign of mutable fire and the centaur. The centaur, as a mystical, half-human, half-horse creature, symbolizes the marriage of our wild, instinctual nature with our conscious will and directed focus.

This sign also contains the archetypes of the student, gypsy, and philosopher, representing this sign’s desire to seek new experiences intellectually, physically, and spiritually. It wants to understand the big picture of life and the underlying meaning of existence.

As a Jupiter-ruled sign, Sagittarius is expansive, optimistic, joyful, visionary, reflective, adventurous, and spontaneous. People with prominent planets or angles in Sagittarius naturally have a strong faith in life and a knowing that everything will work out.

With the Full Moon in Sagittarius, we want to pay attention to these themes in our lives. This is a time for adventure, spontaneity, and seeking out new experiences, whether that’s a physical adventure or an intellectual or spiritual one. We are invited to broaden our horizons, allowing these experiences to expand our understanding of reality.

Simultaneously, the Sun, Uranus, and Mercury are all in the sign of Gemini. As the opposite sign of Sagittarius, Gemini likes to focus on the details rather than the big picture. Sagittarius sees the whole forest, while Gemini sees each individual tree. Gemini and its ruling planet, Mercury, are also connected to everyday life, so we might feel extra attentive or focused on all the details of our day-to-day life.

One of the main themes of this Full Moon is to zoom out and reflect on the overall trajectory of your life: how far you’ve come, where you’re at now, and where you’re headed. This can help us have perspective on issues we’re facing, perhaps reminding us how much we’ve grown.

Along those lines, this is an opportunity to gain more clarity about your purpose. Sagittarius is the arrow shooting at the True North of our lives, blessing us with visions and opportunities to fulfill our soul missions. Where is your arrow pointing? Where is it heading? Remember that purpose doesn’t automatically equal career, nor does it need to be overly complicated.

Take time for deep contemplation or meditation around this Full Moon, and ask your higher self to give you clarity about what your highest path forward, your soul purpose, is for this lifetime.

Reflective Questions

  • What was I experiencing or processing around May 16th? What intentions did I set for the Taurus New Moon, and have those intentions manifested in my reality in any way?

  • What adventures — physical, intellectual, emotional, or spiritual — is my soul craving at this time?

  • What beliefs or perspectives about my life are expanding or changing right now?

  • In what ways have I become too focused on the details, distractions, or day-to-day demands of life? How can I reconnect with the bigger picture?

  • Where is my inner “arrow” pointing right now? What vision, dream, or direction keeps calling you forward?

Sagittarius Full Moon Opposing Uranus

One of the most important planets to pay attention to during this Sagittarius Full Moon is Uranus. In many ways, Uranus is one of the most significant and powerful planets of this year.  His influence extends beyond just this moment in time, and he will continue to show up over the coming months. Sagittarius Full Moon Opposing Uranus

During this Full Moon, he is conjunct the Sun in Gemini and opposing the Moon. He’s been conjunct the Sun for some time, so you have likely already experienced his energy.

Uranus in Gemini increases the speed at which we communicate and process information. He brings rapid insights and surprising, shocking conversations. He represents the desire to break free from any constraints we’re feeling that are keeping us feeling inauthentic and caged. He is associated with freedom, rebellion, and authentic self-expression.

With him conjunct the Sun and opposing the Moon, we are being asked to let go of things that are not aligned with our authentic self. We may be asked to reflect on how we conform to other people’s (and society’s) expectations or projections of us. This is a time for radical self-honesty and truth-telling. This may be a time of having conversations where you speak your truth, no matter how revolutionary or surprising.

Notice where you’re feeling rebellious, anxious, or frustrated. These could all be clues pointing to an inner truth you need to acknowledge or accept. Perhaps just within yourself, but it also may be something that needs to be spoken or shared with another.

One of the themes of the New Moon in Taurus was breaking free from old patterns and stepping into your highest path forward. This is still highly relevant, for Uranus continues to square the Nodes of Fate. The North Node represents how we are meant to grow and evolve, while the South Node represents what we’ve come from and what we know. It is karmic and ancestral.

Now with the Sun in Gemini and the Moon in Sagittarius, we may have more clarity and insights about what we are meant to break free from. These signs can help us connect the dots between dense patterns we can’t seem to shake and the wounds from which they are arising.

With Uranus conjunct Sedna, we are being called to let go of our old ways of being and surrender to the depths of transformation. In part of her myth, Sedna was in a boat with her father, and when a storm came, her father threw her overboard to protect himself.

Sedna held onto the edge of the boat for dear life until her father cut her fingers off, causing her to sink to the ocean floor. In this process, she was transformed into a goddess, and her severed fingers transformed into sea creatures.

We may be, metaphorically, clinging to the boat of our old lives, desperately trying to hold on. We are being asked to let go and trust that in doing so, we will be held and cared for by a loving intelligence guiding this immense transformation.

As I mentioned in the last report, and many others, we’re in a profound transitional time of human history. The old is collapsing for the new to be born, and therefore, we are in a time of great purging — individually and collectively.

Know that whatever is coming up for you — old wounds, addictive patterns, intense emotions, etc — is not only what you are meant to heal for yourself, but also for the collective. When we address our wounds and release their energies, we also heal and release those energies from the collective psyche.

One of the most important things you can do to support this moment in time is to face what is coming up for you — to purge out the old. There is a greater purpose unfolding in the events occurring on Earth. We can do our part by facing our shit.

Astrologically, this is emphasized by the aspects between the transpersonal planets at this time. Uranus is trine to Pluto, and they are both sextile to Neptune. This looks like breaking free (Uranus) from illusions (Neptune) and the ways we misuse our power, hide, or keep ourselves small (Pluto).

What these planets and aspects are also pointing to, on a collective scale, is breaking free from old patriarchal patterns of power-over others, abuse, violence, war, and suppression of the feminine.

Reflective Questions

  • Where in my life am I feeling restless, rebellious, frustrated, or constrained right now? What deeper truth could these feelings be revealing?

  • What parts of myself are longing to be expressed more authentically and freely?

  • What truths have recently surfaced that are difficult, surprising, or liberating to acknowledge?

  • What old patterns, coping mechanisms, or identities am I being asked to break free from at this time?

  • Is there a conversation I need to have, or a truth I need to speak, in order to honor myself more fully?

Healing the Patriarchal Wound

Not only does Sedna’s myth and current astrological placement emphasize patriarchal wounding, but Venus in Cancer square Saturn in Aries also points to this dynamic. Plus, Uranus is still opposing Black Moon Lilith, who is loosely conjunct the Moon.

Uranus conjunct Sedna, opposing Black Moon Lilith, could be awakening deep, ancestral feminine rage towards patriarchal suppression, inequality, and abuse. There could be feelings of sexual liberation and rage against the systems that have demonized sexuality. There could be awakenings to the gifts and healing of sacred sexuality, and this is certainly something to explore and delve into this Full Moon.

You may also be feeling your inner feminine screaming ENOUGH at the systems, people of power, and ways that our society operates that are based in egoical, self-serving, toxic masculine dynamics. Uranus will spur feelings of rebellion and revolution, while Neptune is stripping the masks of illusions and lifting the veils of ignorance.

Venus in Cancer square to Saturn in Aries brings up feelings of protection toward the innocent and vulnerable (Cancer) and how the egoic masculine/patriarchy has waged violence, war, and abuse toward the innocent for self-serving desires (Aries). This is a time for addressing these personal wounds within yourself, especially if they are coming to the surface.

Another way this dynamic may show up is feeling blocks or limitations imposed by yourself or another, around your feminine nature. This may look like being unable to fully feel and express your feminine – your loving, intuitional, emotional, psychic, nurturing self — due to feelings of numbness or inadequacy. This part of yourself may be pushed aside due to the underlying belief that those qualities are weak, illogical, irrational, and not valuable. This is an example of the masculine overriding and suppressing the feminine.

In their higher expressions, Venus square Saturn points to a facet of Sagittarius: the merging of our instinctual, wild, and intuitive selves with our conscious will and directed focus. This is the feminine and masculine working in harmony — aligning our deeper wisdom centers with our minds and everyday consciousness.

One of the most important things you can do for this Full Moon, and for healing the patriarchal wounds, is to allow your emotions to move. Allow yourself to rage, to cry, to scream; the emotions and energy need to move. Create a safe, ceremonial space for yourself where you feel free to express yourself, and let the energy move in whatever way it needs.

Reflective Questions

  • What emotions are asking to be fully felt and expressed within me right now?

  • What messages did I receive growing up about emotions, sensitivity, intuition, sexuality, or vulnerability?

  • Where do I notice patriarchal conditioning living within myself — in my beliefs, behaviors, relationships, or self-perception?

  • What feelings arise when I allow myself to connect more deeply to my sexuality, sensuality, or creative life-force energy?

  • In what ways does my inner masculine protect and support my feminine? In what ways does it overpower, suppress, or disconnect from it?

Practice Ideas

In honor of Sagittarius, this is a wonderful time to hold a fire ceremony. Full Moons represent what we are now meant to release, and this is further supported by the other dynamics described above.

As such, consider writing on a piece of paper what you are ready to heal and release in your life, then give it to the fire. Watch as the fire transforms your paper to ash, and hold the intention that the same process is occurring within.

Meditate with the flame, focusing your consciousness on its wisdom. Allow it to teach you the secrets of transformation, of alchemy, and the inner fire that burns within as your everlasting spirit.

With the Sun in Gemini, we are also reminded that daily life is the practice. For this Full Moon in Sagittarius, I invite you to really pay attention to yourself and your experiences throughout your day. Pay attention to your thoughts, emotions, dreams, and interactions. Allow the spirit, your higher self, to speak to you through synchronicities, signs, symbols, and even other people.

Along with those ideas, you can also have a life review meditation. For this practice, you’ll want to enter a deep meditative state. Start with some movement, energetic hygiene, or breathwork to help you settle deep within yourself.

When you feel ready and in a comfortable position, close your eyes and start to zoom out on your life. See yourself where you’re at now, as if you’re an outside observer. Then, go back in time, as if you’re rewinding a movie, and stop at specific moments in time that were monumental in some way.

Ask your higher self to guide this process, showing you scenes of your past that are important for you to see. Notice what you have outgrown, how you’ve changed, and perhaps how some of these experiences are still influencing you today.

Go back as far as feels right. Once that is complete, start to go ahead in time, again as if you are fast-forwarding a movie. Pass by the present, and go into the future. What do you see?

Allow your higher self to give you glimpses of your future self through visions, sensations, emotions, and intuitive knowings. Ask your higher self something along the lines of, “What is my highest path forward? What is my true north?”

Trust in whatever is revealed to you. When that is complete, come back to present you in your mind’s eye, and shower yourself in love, gratitude, compassion, and grace. Then come back into your body and slowly return to the room around you. Feel yourself firmly planted on the Earth, grounding yourself in the present moment.

Take time to integrate and reflect, journaling anything that stood out to you.

This is a time of immense, fast-paced change. Take care of yourself, honor your nervous system, and know that we are all experiencing this together.

With love,
