Healing with Light

- - -

When I first heard the term “colorpuncture,” my ears perked up. I had never heard that term before, but I was intrigued. My first thought was, “So, it's like acupuncture but with color?” While that first thought was basically true, there is also so much more to this fascinating modality.

Learning about this healing method has given me significant insights into my own healing journey. And that’s why I’m excited to share with you what colorpuncture is and how it works.

By the end, you’ll walk away with fascinating information about how our cells function, how colorpuncture can help improve our lives, and how you can start your own at-home self-regulation practice. Hopefully, you’ll experience your own “ah-ha” moments just like I did as you learn about how our amazing body operates and heals.

What is Colorpuncture?

Colorpuncture is a gentle, non-invasive healing modality that addresses imbalances at the cellular level. As the name suggests, it’s similar to acupuncture, but no needles are involved. Colorpuncture uses colored light tools placed on specific body points to facilitate healing and release.

This modality was developed by German naturopath and acupuncturist Peter Mandel. He developed colorpuncture after studying how our human cells function and how they respond to light.

Much of his studies were based on the findings of German biophysicist Fritz Albert Popp, who found that our cells emit light, called biophotons. This light is transmitting information. Our cells are constantly communicating with each other, and they’re “speaking” through their light transmission.

Whenever a cell is disrupted and its function is imbalanced due to inner or outer conflict, it affects the way it carries information. Its light is no longer communicating harmoniously with its neighboring cells. This disruption creates a ripple effect that influences the cells around it. Over time, if the miscommunication continues, it can create physical symptoms of dis-ease or dysregulation.

We all have this “energetic blueprint” in our bodies—it is what gives us life. Since the moment we are conceived, our environment and experiences influence our “original” blueprint. We store information and beliefs in this energetic highway based on what we experience. This, of course, also relates to the nervous system, but the information is first translated through our biophotons before it reaches our neural pathways.

When we experience conflict, that information gets stored in our energetic blueprint and can disrupt our cells’ communication. The energy can get “stuck” or “congested,” which can then develop into a variety of emotional and physical symptoms.

“Information rides on energy, and that informs matter. Information is this pathway; it is our God blueprint; it is our blueprint for our physical vessel. Energy is the path that information rides on, and then matter is the physical body. So when information is not flowing on the energy, then matter gets stuck and congested, and that’s when we have physical symptoms.” -- Yvonne Cropp

Colorpuncture addresses the underlying communication imbalance in the cells with colored light. According to the American Journal of Acupuncture, “Given that human cells exhibit energetic properties of light and that light and color have a modifying effect on the body’s system of energetic information, it seemed obvious to Mandel that the informational properties of light and color could be used to restore coherence, or health.”

Specific points on the skin act as a gateway for cellular communication. The color “informs” the light within our cells, and “reminds” it of its original coherence. It helps bring our cells back into balance, so they are harmonious with our original energetic blueprint. By doing so, we release stuck or congested energy, which creates a ripple effect of change in our lives. In other words, colorpuncture helps us to release burdens without having to relive the challenging experience.

Colorpuncture Benefits

Colorpuncture is a powerful healing tool that ultimately helps bring us into a calmer and regulated state. Life is full of conflict and challenges, which is part of this human experience. However, sometimes those conflicts and disturbances can get stuck in our energetic blueprint. This affects our physical body by disrupting the nervous system and weakening the immune system. It also affects our mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies.

One of the greatest things we can do to support our system, whether it be mental, emotional, physical, or spiritual, is to address our conflicts. It is to honestly look at what’s rubbing us the wrong way.

Of course, that is not an easy or comfortable task. And sometimes when we try to address that conflict, we experience an emotional blockage and/or nervous system activation. Our body does not feel safe or regulated. This can make it challenging for us to address our conflict from a wise and clear state.

Colorpuncture helps to release the conflict on the cellular level so that we can process our challenges with more clarity and wisdom. Rather than having a full-body activation when we think about a current pain or past trauma, colorpuncture helps our body release that trauma so that we can form new thought and belief patterns.

Colorpuncture is not a quick fix, but an invitation for us to consciously look at our conflicts and wounds. It helps our inner light come into coherence so that we are more aligned with our deeper, truer, Soul self.

When we enter this state of alignment, what no longer serves us naturally comes to the surface. And what comes to the surface is what is ready to be processed and released from our lives. In this way, colorpuncture is highly supportive for creating coherence in the body so that we can overcome our challenges and limitations with greater awareness and groundedness.

“We cannot change what happened, but we can change our response to it.” - Peter Mandel
